Grouping of Danville, Illinois fire related items fron the estate of Capt. Norman Day.

This grouping includes a double sided panoramic photograph, dated 12/04/1949, of the Danville Fire Department. One side shows the firemen standing in a line in front of the vechiles and the other side shows the firemen in front of there assigned units. The intersting thing about the photograph, is that it shows that all the African Americans
are assigned to one unit. Capt. Norman Day is a African American as indicated in the photos and the grouping also includes his red helmet with black tape around brim, Captain identification card, and a dress hat with
uniform buttons. Everything is in excellent condition.
